Depending on the purpose and working conditions of parts manufactured of forgings, there are five groups of these forgings subject to testing type (see the relevant groups in Table 2).

Application:

1. Hardness values for the forgings of IV and V groups are not reject characteristic.

2. For the forgings of VI group it is allowed to determine mechanical properties on forgings not with upper and lower hardness limits, but with hardness standards within the range of specified strength category. In this case, hardness is an additional acceptance parameter.

3. The Customer can specify another combination of acceptance parameters for the forgings of IV and V group instead of stated ones in Table 1.

4. Hardness determination of the forgings of V group can be performed on specimens for mechanical testing.
